I think it's a beautiful name for any baby girl (whether White, Black, Asian, Hispanic, etc.). I say go for it, and use Shaine or Shai as a nickname. I've met a woman named Shawn, so I think you're safe going with "Shaine", but I'd probably just use it as a nickname to give your baby girl some options as she grows up.

Shaine for a girl would definitely be too masculine though, but, a cute name is you have a boy!
