Is a son with an African father traditionally given an African name, regardless of Mother's heritage?

Africa has many different cultures and traditions. And I'm sure that if you look hard enough, then you can find the tradition that you are talking about.

But I doubt that each every African culture has this kind of tradition.

Africa is a HUGE continent with many, many different societies, tribes, cultures and religions, so it probably varies depending on the specific person's culture.
Reply:not neccessarily. It depends on the parents choice
Reply:yeah suire

actually all african children's last names are their father's names or their father's father names

the mother family names have nothing to do with the children's names
