Can you name 10 South African slang words used by all South African citizens?

This is a fun question, so go crazy! No need to argue on this one! And no need to think or google answers. Just try and be original. Best answer will be the one that can name some slang that was adopted within the last 5 years.

When I moved to UK, I found out that china (as in howzit my china) is actually cockney.

China plate rhymes with best mate.

So someone is you're best china (plate) their you're best mate.

I always wondered why calling someone Chinese meant their you're friend.

Some more of my favorites are:

Kak man- my European housemates always giggle when I say this, cause it's similar in most European languages (Hungarians say Koko etc)

Vrot- Doesn't this word just ooze with imagery, it is so descriptive. Vrrrot!

Jebo yes- Always brings a smile to someones face.

And of course my favorite, Howzit!

When my European housemates ask me, how do you say hello in a country with 11 languages?

I always reply, Howzit, one greeting for one nation, cause despite our differences, we have one thing in common, we are all God's people.

Reply:Looks like there's lot of slang here, maar I go with PHATMAX cos i know everything he mentioned. When my man chats up his buddies, he calls them majimbos. He calls me vrou. U'll find a lot of slang in this site: http://www.southafrica.info/plan_trip/tr...

Moja majimbos.
Reply:My husband just told me that I often use the word "goggas" for bugs (left over from my South Africa days) and we sometimes refer to the barbeque as a "braai" when it is only us at home -although my children think we are mad as both my husband and I are born Americans, yet feel a connection to South Africa to the degree that we still throw in South African slang (the bit that we know and remember) into our private talks. The words I remember fondly are: bakkies, robot and koppie. And do you still use the word "shame" so much?
