Reply:Gavin is a wonderful name regardless of race. I'm African American and I'd name my son that but everybody is different. If your heart is set on it, work on your husband and I'm sure the two of you can think of something that satisfies both your ideas. Good luck!!!

Reply:I never understood why name has to correspond to race. Go for it. Most typically African American names are just variants of Anglo or French names anyway.
