Reply:Emmett W. Chappelle-biochemist

Patricia Bath- inventor of the Laserphaco Probe for the treatment of cataracts.
Reply:There are many scientists of all races. Most scientist are not famous and do not have great inventions but that does not mean they do not make important contributions to their field. Simply google different universities and go to the biology faculty page and you will find many scientists representing all races! Their web page will probably even show their current research and will have a list or links to their published works.

It should also be noted that their are some sites such as the one listed by bleedingvenus which have some inaccurate information. eg. Daniel Hale Williams first successful open heart surgery. This is not true as he repaired the percardium (sac around the heart), and this achievement was actually performed 2 years earlier by Henry Dalton. The first successful surgery on the heart muscle itself was by Ludwig Rehn in Germany.
